It was probably 6PM (India-Time), it was a beautiful small but a traditional Indian house
A girl with beautiful Asian features, lite brown eyes outlined with black color, a straight soft nose with a beautiful piercing which can make your heart skip a beat again & again
Purely made beautiful chin with a slight chin dimple was making her look more stunning.
To be honest you never saw & probably won't see such a beautiful, heartwarming, gorgeous & lovely creation of Allah.
She was sitting on the terrace which was painted lite sober green, she was sitting on a chair thinking about her upcoming story...
She started editing a post about her upcoming book and decided to post it on her author's social media account, she posted straight at 6:30PM
She didn't expect much from the post
Just a quote from her book, a quiet line about the moment lovers eyes met & everything else fades
But that night, at 8:34 pm, her phone buzzed.
A message request.
"I don't usually DM authors, but your words felt like they finally said what I never could."
She stared at the screen, rereading the message with a cautious heart. It wasn't flirty. It wasn't fan-like. It felt...honest
She clicked on his profile Not a bot, Not a creep. Just a guy with kind dark brown eyes, a few photos of books, chai, and skies that looked a lot like hers, yet weren't
Different countries, Different lives But something in that single sentence tugged at her and just like that, it began with a message, A moment And a boy she'd never dared to blur.
She stared at his message for a moment longer, then typed:
"Hey, I'm so glad my words spoke with you. I actually have another ongoing story on Wattpad right now, if you're interested in reading it. My new book isn't out yet, but it's coming soon. Here's the link if you want to check it out."
She hesitated, her thumb hovering over the send button. Her ongoing story had been gaining some traction, and she didn't mind sharing it, but there was something about this conversation that felt different. Still, she hit send button. It was a simple message, but somehow, felt like the start of something more. Maybe it was the sincerity in his words or the quiet connection she could feel between them. Either way, she had no idea how this would unfold, but she couldn't deny a small, hopeful flutter in her chest.
An hour passed before her phone buzzed again. It was his reply:
"Hey, I just tried opening the link, but it seems Wattpad isn't working in my country. Is there another way I can read your story?"
She saw his message the next day at 7 PM and quickly typed a reply:
"Oh no, that's strange! What country are you in?"
He replied almost immediately:
"Pakistan."
She smiled to herself, typing back:
"I have some friends in Pakistan, and their Wattpad works fine. Maybe try using a VPN?"
He responded almost instantly:
"I tried, but it's still not working."
She paused for a second before replying:
"I don't know what's happening then... I'm really sorry about that. Maybe there's an issue with Wattpad in your area?"
He replied:
"Maybe it's fine. Let it go. Maybe it's just not in my fate to read your story."
She quickly typed back:
"No, don't say that. I'll find a way."
He waited a whole day for her reply, feeling a mix of hope and impatience. Finally, the next day, at 7 PM, his phone buzzed with a message from her.
She sent the link with a simple message:
"Hey! I uploaded my story on Scrollstack today. You can read it from here now. I hope this works for you!"
He replied:
"Thank you so much!"
She smiled at his message and quickly typed:
"Don't forget to tell me if you liked it or not"
He responded:
"Why not? I'll surely do it"
She liked his message, feeling a little happy
With a final glance at the screen, she put her phone down, the conversation ended at least for now...
As hours passed, she couldn't help but wonder. Did he read it? or had he ignored it? Her mind kept asking the same question, even she tried to stay busy in her own things.
Each time her phone buzzed, her heart skipped a beat, only to be disappointed when it was something else...another notification, another reminder, but not from him
She tried to push the thoughts aside, telling herself it was just one person.
She shared a part of herself, and now she was waiting. Waiting to hear if he liked it, or if he'd just quietly moved on.
Three days passed.
Still no reply.
She checked their chat more times than she cared to admit, he'd seen the messages, seen the link. But nothing. Not a single word since.
Maybe he didn't like it.
Maybe he didn't read it at all.
Maybe he forgot.
Each thought hit differently, but none of them felt good.
She told herself not to overthink. People get busy.
But deep down, a quiet disappointment had already taken root.
And yet, she still kept her notifications on, Just in case...
On the fourth evening, just as she was about to silence her phone for the night, the screen lit up.
His name
Her breath stopped...
"I read your story. Took my time with it, because I didn't want to rush through it. Just wanted to say, it was beautiful."
She stared at the message, reread it more than once.
The pain of waiting, the quiet doubt she hadn't admitted to anyone, it softened. Not completely, but enough.
Her fingers hovered on the keyboard, a tiny smile on her lips.
She began to type
"I'm glad you liked it. Thank you so much"
A moment later, his message popped up:
"It's actually the first book I've ever read on Wattpad. I don't usually read e-books."
She paused, surprised & a little honored
He made the effort, just for her words...
Her face lit up as she read his message. She couldn't stop smiling.
"I'm really happy you liked it and took the time to read and review it", she replied her fingers were flying on the keyboard.
Almost instantly, he texted back:
"I'm waiting for the next chapter."
Her heart did a quiet flip, She didn't expected him to be this invested.
She stared at his message for a second
"Why are you not telling me your name?", she typed with a teasing smile.
A pause...
He replied:
"I was waiting for you to ask."
She typed:
"Okay then... so tell me now, what's your name and how old are you?"
She hit send
It wasn't just about the answers, she wanted to know him...
A moment later, his message popped up:
"My name is Zavian & I'm 18"
Simple, Respectful, No emojis
She read it twice, saying his name softly in her head, Zavian
Somehow, it suited him...
Before she could reply, another message popped up:
"I'm guessing your name is Mahek, it's on your username, well authors don't usually hide their names... not like they need to, right? What about your age?"
She smiled at the message. He was right
"Yes, my name is Mahek & I'm 19... going to be 20 this year, in 2024"
She hit send before realizing she just shared more than she meant to
It felt natural. Like she wasn't talking to a stranger anymore.
And maybe she wasn't...
I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Stay tuned for the next part...
